Collaroy SLSC Awards

One of the fundamentals of surf life saving is ensuring that lifesavers have the necessary qualifications to carry out their role as lifesavers on the beach. The first qualification that Surf Life Saving Australia formulated back in the early 1900s was the Bronze Medallion, which today is still the basic award that all lifesavers must gain before they are allowed to patrol the beach, or participate in any surf life saving competition.

Today there are numerous life saving awards that life savers can gain, from the Bronze Medallion, through to the Advanced Resuscitation Certificate, several Silver Medallions to the Gold Medallion - the highest life saving award that can be gained by a lifesaver. Outlined below are the various awards - some of them have links to other pages which outline the requirements for the award. If you would like to find out more about any of the awards, please contact our Chief Instructor at chiefinstructor@collaroysurfclub.com.au
