Gold Medallion
This award is the basic qualification for lifeguards.
It is valid for 12 months from the date of the examination. Further, for this award to remain valid all pre-requisites must be maintained as current/valid during this period.
Pre-requisites
Be a minimum of 18 years of age on the date of examination.
Hold a current SLSA Bronze Medallion.
Hold a current SLSA Silver Medallion (Patrol Captains).
Hold a current SLSA Silver Medallion (Advanced Life Support).
Learning Outcomes
Perform complex patient retrieval and support aided and unaided by equipment.Select appropriate rescue equipment.
Assess and manage the patient's distress levels.
