Silver Medallion IRB
Pre-requisites
Be a minimum of 17 years of age on the date of examination.
Hold a current SLSA Bronze Medallion.
Hold a current NSW Waterways Licence.
Learning Outcomes
Crew an inflatable rescue boat.
Assessment
Satisfy the majority of the Examiners in respect to their competence in all learning outcomes by -
- Written examination.
- Basic Skill Performance.
- Rescue Scenario simulation.For this award to remain current candidates are required to perform an annual proficiency test.
Demonstrate pre launch procedures.
Perform crewing procedures.
Perform a rescue in an IRB as a crew member.
Signal and action recognised SLSA signals.
Demonstrates patient assessment and appropriate response to patient conditions.
Demonstrate emergency crew responses when required.
Demonstrate post patrol procedures as crew.
Drive an IRB.
Demonstrate pre launch procedures.
Perform driving procedures.
Perform a rescue in an IRB as a driver.
Demonstrate emergency driver responses when required.
Demonstrate post patrol procedures as driver.
